How we work

There's no fixed order: these four steps connect in every direction. Start wherever you are, and we move through the rest as the work needs.

Start anywhere: it’s a loop

We start by defining the research question and who we need to hear from: the people, places and data that will shape the study.

We design the method: interviews, field research or a survey instrument built to answer the question, not just to collect data.

We run the fieldwork and collect responses, then analyse what comes back so the findings hold up.

We report the findings and, where asked, follow up with impact assessment, so the research feeds into what happens next.
