Initiatives · Innovation for Communities

We are committed to our communities. So we built Local Design, Community Workshops and Solutions for Local Businesses to back local creators, preserve heritage, build skills and support small businesses.

Voices from the hills
We don’t always need to leave the hills to find opportunities. We need to sharpen our skills, support one another, and build something strong right here, so today’s youth can create their own future in these mountains.

Not Charity. Conviction.

We’re a studio, not an NGO, but community capacity still matters to us.

Studio 1947 is a commercial design and technology studio, not a non-profit. We run these initiatives because the hills we work from only grow stronger when the people in them have real access to skills, tools and opportunity, not because it is charity or a CSR checkbox.

01

Talent close to home.

Local youth build design, development and craft skills they can use wherever their careers take them.

02

A stronger ecosystem.

When local businesses and creators do better, the wider hill economy does better with them.

03

Skills, not hand-outs.

We would rather teach a skill that compounds than offer help that runs out.

04

Technology for everyone.

Affordable, accessible technology shouldn’t be a privilege, so we run these workshops and build affordable solutions for local businesses.

Portrait of Rabi, Founder & CEO of Studio 1947

A Founder’s Vision

I come from a farming family. Growing up, I saw first-hand how the lack of access to skills, information and confidence could hold an entire generation back, no matter how hard people worked. That is what capacity building means to me: not a buzzword, but the difference between facing life’s real challenges alone and having the tools to meet them. Studio 1947’s community work carries that belief forward.
