Nest Homes
Nest Homes is a curated travel and homestay brand with 20+ properties across the Himalayan belt, spanning Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Himachal Pradesh. Nest Homes reports over 1.5 lakh travellers hosted to date, alongside 900+ Google reviews (4.8★) and 1,000+ JustDial reviews (4.8★), and offers authentic, nature-led Himalayan stays and curated offbeat tours.
Nest Homes asked Studio 1947 to refresh its visual identity. We reimagined the logo, defined a full colour and typography system, and designed print collateral and brand assets that reflect eco-conscious hospitality and the Himalayas.
The Identity Challenge
As Nest Homes grew across offbeat mountain destinations (including Sittong, Tinchuley, Chatakpur, Sandakphu, Kolakham, and Rishikhola), its brand identity needed a refresh to match its growing footprint.
The brand needed one visual language that captured both the calm of Himalayan rivers and the raw adventure of mountain forests. It also had to signal trust to modern, mobile-first travellers.
Himalayan Harmony
Bringing peaceful river valleys and rugged mountain wilderness together in one brand look.
Collateral Uniformity
Creating print and digital assets that scale across 20+ stay properties, tour packages, and offbeat itineraries.
Trust & Eco-Consciousness
Highlighting 1.5 lakh+ travellers hosted and hundreds of five-star reviews, while placing the brand around sustainable, nature-focused experiences.
Logo Redesign & Anatomy of a Nest
Thought Process & Emblem DesignWe reworked the Nest Homes logo from an older blocky layout into one balanced circular emblem. The design draws directly on the anatomy of a nest: the organic, interlocking weave of twigs and grasses.
At the centre, two birds face each other in a protective, nurturing gesture inside a ring of woven branches, topped with elegant serif type. The symbol stands for sanctuary, warmth, safety, and homecoming in the Himalayan landscape.
Signage & Physical Spaces
Brand ApplicationA strong brand identity has to move easily between screens and physical spaces. We built the Nest Homes emblem to work in both light and dark versions, and on exterior signage.
The circular emblem sits naturally on hanging wooden storefront signs, frosted window glass, and backlit entry markers at mountain retreats.
Colour Psychology: Harmony between Earth & Water
Palette ArchitectureWe chose teal as the primary colour: its green undertone reflects the region's forests and valleys, and its blue evokes the rivers and lakes. Darker tones carry the depth of the mountain jungles.
Together, the palette ties the brand to eco-conscious tourism and the nature-led experiences Nest Homes offers travellers.
Typography System: Legibility & Warmth
Visual CommunicationRoboto & Roboto Serif give a modern, clean look that balances professionalism with warmth, ideal for a Himalayan tourist brand. They read easily in print and on screen, and reflect the brand's focus on nature, adventure, and sustainability.
Roboto Serif: Editorial Warmth
Used for main headlines, taglines ('Take Rest in your NEST'), and editorial callouts. It brings literary authority, heritage warmth, and a welcoming feel.
Roboto Sans-Serif: Modern Clarity
Used for body text, tour itineraries, price charts, and mobile UI, so everything stays legible on screens and in printed brochures.
Marketing Collateral, Brochures & Visiting Cards
Print & Media DesignWe designed a full set of print collateral: tri-fold brochures, business cards, and promotional poster mockups. It features vibrant hand-illustrated Himalayan artwork of the historic Darjeeling Toy Train, the iconic yellow mountain taxis, rolling tea gardens, and views of Kanchenjunga.
The collateral presents tour packages (Sandakphu 3N/4D, Darjeeling 4N/5D, Kurseong 2N/3D) alongside key trust signals, office details, and QR codes for quick digital enquiries.
