Mohuna Media
Studio 1947 worked with Mohuna Media (muhonamedia.com) to build a visual brand identity and printed collateral for an independent news channel based in Assam.
The name "Mohuna" means the confluence where rivers meet. It is a fitting metaphor for the meeting of climate, culture, and human stories at the heart of their journalism. Our brief was to create a memorable logo and business card system that honors the heritage of the Brahmaputra region while carrying the authority of a broadcaster.
What the Logo Means
The MissionThe logo represents the livelihoods of people living around the Brahmaputra River. It highlights the activities that sustain the community: agriculture, fishing, local crafts, and water transport.
Each element shows how the river supports farming, fishing, traditional crafts, and the movement of people and goods. Together, the design stands for the strong bond between the river and everyday life.
Four Pillars of River Livelihood
Visual LanguageAgriculture & Farming
Honoring the fertile riverbanks and farming rhythms that feed river communities across Assam.
Fishery & River Ecology
Celebrating the traditional fishing practices and river life that sustain families along the Brahmaputra.
Local Artisanship
Weaving traditional crafts, silk handlooms, and local technical knowledge into the visual identity.
Water Transport & Confluence
Reflecting the boats, ferries, and riverways that connect isolated islands (Char areas) to the wider economy.
Brand Collateral & Business Cards
Collateral DesignWe built a clean business card system that balances journalistic authority with regional warmth. With generous white space and river motifs, the stationery leaves a lasting impression during field reporting and press events.
Client Impact & Outcomes
Measuring Success- Authentic Regional Authority: A logo and brand language that connects at once with audiences across Assam and the Northeast.
