Kulam Homestay

CreatorsBrandingWeb DesignUI/UX DesignOne-Pager Site Mirik, Darjeeling 2026

Kulam Homestay is a quiet boutique retreat in the hills of Mirik, Darjeeling, set among lush tea gardens and pine forests. It opened in 2025. Kulam is more than a place to stay. It is a refuge for travelers who want peace, real hill culture, and warm family hospitality.

Studio 1947 worked with Kulam Homestay to design and build a custom single-page website. It takes visitors straight into the calm of Mirik, shows off the homestay's artisan boutique, and makes booking simple.

The Goal & The One-Pager Idea

The Objective

Many hospitality websites are cluttered with nested subpages, slow loading, and confusing navigation. Kulam Homestay needed a fast, mobile-first one-pager that could show its calm mood at once, tell its story, present its local artisan boutique, and turn interested visitors into direct bookings.

01

Hill Storytelling

Taking future guests to Mirik with full-screen video backdrops, calm typography, and high-res photography.

02

Artisan Boutique Showcase

A dedicated section for garden-fresh tea, pure wild honey, organic turmeric, and hand-picked bay leaves.

03

Direct WhatsApp Reservations

Simple calls-to-action that connect travelers directly with the homestay hosts.

Website Structure & Flow

Design & Development

We built the single page as a smooth, story-led vertical flow. Each scroll brings a new side of the Kulam experience, moving from the brand's outlook and room comfort to local crafts and guest reviews.

Handcrafted Treasures: Supporting Mirik Artisans

Local E-Commerce & Craft Boutique

A standout feature of the site is the Handcrafted Treasures boutique section. Kulam Homestay supports local village farmers and craftsmen by offering organic, hand-harvested products directly to guests.

We highlighted four local products with custom photography and story cards: Garden Fresh Tea (freshly plucked from private tea gardens), Pure Hill Honey (100% wild-harvested), Organic Turmeric (sun-dried & ground), and Farm-Fresh Bay Leaves.

Over 85% of homestay inquiries come from mobile users. We built the site for lag-free mobile performance, quick location maps, and easy-to-spot contact buttons.

Mobile UX: smooth scrolling made for handheld devices
Responsive Design: a fluid layout across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens

Guest Trust & Verified Reviews

Guest Testimonials

Guest trust is the bedrock of homestay hospitality. The website features real guest reviews showing Kulam's 4.9★ average rating, alongside location maps for easy travel planning.
