Givfunds
Givfunds (givfunds.org) works at the ground level of financial inclusion in India. It funds the educators, community organisers and everyday changemakers who close the gap a spreadsheet of statistics never quite closes on its own.
This is one of Studio 1947's oldest working relationships. The design work began with our founder, Rabi, before Studio 1947 existed as a studio. What follows is part of that ongoing collaboration: a running social media system built one poster at a time.
The Brief: Two Kinds of Post, One Voice
Givfunds needed its feed to do two different jobs without reading as two different accounts. Honour the people doing the work of financial inclusion on the ground. And make the scale of the problem land in a single glance: a country where three in four adults aren't financially literate.
Recognition and statistics are opposite moods. One is warm and personal, the other is blunt and numeric. The brief was to hold both inside one red-and-white identity.
The Exemplar Awards
Recognition PostersTwo of the people Givfunds' work touches: Varsha Patil, honoured for changing classrooms one student at a time, and Alamelu V, honoured for rebuilding her community's resilience after it broke. Each portrait sits on the brand red, framed in laurel, with a pull-quote in a light card at the base. The subject, not the logo, is the first thing anyone sees.
The template repeats deliberately: name, title, portrait, laurel, quote. Once, it reads as one story. As a running series, it reads as an award.
Making the Numbers Land
Awareness StatisticsWhere the award posters slow down for one person, the statistic posters are made to be read in under two seconds. "Only 27%" and "900 million" are set at a scale nothing else on the page competes with. The rest of the sentence is there to give that number its context, not its emphasis.
The 900 million poster pushes the idea further. The word "FINANCE" is redrawn as its own rising trend line, so the missing subject of the sentence is also the graphic that explains why it matters.
